ABOUT
My name is Emma Bracken - I’m a second year at the University of St Andrews studying Modern History and International Relations, and the Head of Marketing for Craft House.
For five years I have been a hyper-realistic ice hockey artist. As specific as it may sound, I found my niche early on and was quite good at it. I would create posters for NHL teams, paint jackets for players' families, and translate my methodological view of the game into simple, sellable pieces.
As my skills have expanded and I have grown as an artist, I discovered what I loved about creating hockey art was creating an accessible, creative product of an industry that lacked inspiration and artistry. Since then I have tried to use my art to make my audience reconsider where they think creativity belongs. I have worked as a designer for the clothing company NOBAD, marketing advisor for the NHL, and led marketing for R&R Wellness Spa. Like how most artists use art to express what they cannot explain, I design and create because I love the ability to translate the vision of a brand into a tangible feeling. Using artists and real creative visionaries brings life and emotion to everything, from websites to hand drawn invitations.
I still create a lot of art for myself, as all artists do, but I hope to eventually encourage others to implement their art where they think it may not belong.
